The Client’s Vision: “Palatial Grandeur” Meets Modern Comfort

When the client approached us, their brief was straightforward but demanding: “I want a home that feels like a five-star hotel, but functions as a private family estate.”

They wanted to move away from the standard, boxy residential designs common in the region. Instead, they envisioned a space defined by verticality and light.

• Scale: The core requirement was a double-height entrance hall that immediately establishes a sense of awe upon entry.
• Materials: The client requested a palette that signifies wealth and permanence. We selected polished marble flooring with black geometric inlays, paired with warm walnut wood paneling and brushed gold brass accents.
• Function: The home needed to accommodate large-scale entertaining. The dining and living areas were designed not just for family use, but for hosting dignitaries and large gatherings.

• The Grand Foyer & Staircase: The heart of the home is the double-height void. We engineered massive marble-clad columns to support the structure while adding classical elegance. Suspended from the ceiling are custom crystal chandeliers that cascade down, drawing the eye upward. The staircase features illuminated steps and glass railings, creating a floating effect that contrasts with the heavy marble floors.

• The Formal Dining Room: Designed for grand banquets, we supplied a custom oversized oval dining table with a black marble top. The chairs were bespoke upholstered in cream leather with integrated gold stainless steel frames, ensuring they are as durable as they are beautiful. The ceiling features recessed cove lighting that washes the walls with warm light, enhancing the texture of the heavy drapery.

• Custom Joinery & Wall Paneling: To avoid the “coldness” of too much marble, we integrated vertical wood slat paneling in the living areas and TV zones. This adds acoustic comfort and visual warmth. The TV wall unit is a seamless blend of hidden storage cabinets and open display shelves, finished in high-gloss lacquer to resist dust—a crucial consideration for the local climate.

• Lighting as Architecture: Lighting was not an afterthought; it was a structural element. From the modern artistic pendant lights in the family lounge to the classic crystal cascades in the foyer, every fixture was sourced to match the gold/brass hardware theme. We ensured all lighting systems were compatible with local voltage standards to prevent future maintenance issues.

• The Lounge & Entertainment Zones: We created multiple seating areas to allow for simultaneous conversations during large gatherings. The furniture selection features deep-buttoned velvet sofas in neutral tones, paired with gold-base marble coffee tables. The flooring transitions from polished marble to plush patterned rugs to define these cozy zones within the vast open plan.
